Christina Keane’s visit to Nazareth

Hi, my name is Christina Keane Sanchez and I am proud of being a part of CCCO. Today I am here to talk to you about my experience in Nazareth.

Seeing where the kids lived, slept, played and learned helped me realize how grateful I really am. It took a long time to get there and we had to go up a very bumpy road but when we finally arrived, they greeted us with a beautiful song.

Then we went to Mass together. After the lovely ceremony the boys put on a play for us. It was great, and even though they have so little they made a gift for each of us. They were always so happy and never took the smile off their faces.

We take so much for granted considering, they have fun with a stick. AND BOY CAN THEY PLAY SOCCER!

They play on a concrete floor, outdoor, which is their school gymnasium. The boys we visited all slept in one room with about fifty bunk beds.

This really helped my cousins and I realize how fortunate we are. Witnessing this helped me realize when I am feeling down there is nothing for me to complain about.

Their school is surrounded by many different fruit trees. They also had the most delicious meat in the WORLD and the juiciest tangerines EVER!

I am so glad that we, as Canadians are helping them out because I learned that without our help, the school would not exist and then where would they go?

As we were leaving, I felt happy that we helped them out and that we are going to help them even more. I also felt sad that they don’t have families like we do. I now realize that I am very blessed and want to continue to help them out.

To end this presentation, I would like to thank you all for helping the kids of Colombia and for giving donations to the school. Together we can make a difference in their lives! THANK YOU!
